Anything is Possible With Your Support

Well it happened. We prepared for rain, changed the format, came off a record-breaking year, and yet: Sunshine prevailed! A rousing shoot out determined our winners! And we raised more for Rochester students than ever before!

Congratulations to our tournament winners:

  • Bill Newlands and Tim Malins rebounded from last year's near miss to become 2022 RBT Open Champions!

  • New this year, we had 4 flights, with the low 36-hole total in each flight advancing to the alternate shot shootout on hole 10. Bill Newlands hit first, and found the green from 125 yards, leaving Tim Malins a 30 foot putt for birdie.

  • The other flight winners, Brad Sluman/Ron Billitier (Burt Flight), Richard Sands/Joe Wilson (Crossed Flight), and Tony Faupl/Lonnie Palmer (Davis Flight), made par, hoping to go to round 2 of the shootout. Tim Malins lined up the putt, looked once, and rolled it in for birdie and the win!

Together we raised an incredible $1,305,750, which the Sands Family Foundation is honored to match 1.5x for a tournament grand total of $3,264,375!! This triumph puts ESF's Possibilities of Tomorrow Campaign goal within reach, meets urgent community needs, and opens the door to endless possibilities for the 2,400 Rochester children and families served by Education Success Foundation.

Our most heartfelt appreciation for our generous donors, players, and Founders' Club, Seagate Circle, and Chairman's Circle members. With their investment and involvement, The RBT Open has become an enduring and impactful philanthropic tradition, benefiting students and families most in need of support.
